[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you are a person like me who has a poor color sense and design sense, you may understand how difficult it is to shop jewelry. I was at my wits end last week, still undecided about what to present my Mom for her birthday. Like any person who is very undecided about what to present, I was scrolling through my Facebook feed. It was by chance that I stumbled upon a blog post by Sayuri. It was actually an event invite. But I loved the idea of the collection.
As mentioned in their website,
Patinam is a Collection of Handmade Jewelry by Sayuri that is inspired by the sights, sounds, culture, and the people of Chennai. It is Chennai as seen through the eyes of a student who moves to the city and is enamoured by both its past and present. It is an attempt to look holistically at the city which is a potpourri of various cultures through the medium that is jewellery. Made up of necklaces, bangles, and earrings, this mixed media collection attempts to portray the resplendence of Chennai in the form of wearable art.
And art it is. I immediately approached them and they were gracious enough to show me the collection before it was officially launched. I really liked almost all of the designs. But two designs stood out for me. For some reason, my mother is very attached towards two temples; Kabali temple in mylapore and Marundheeswarar temple in Tiruvanmiyur. Kabali becoming mainstream in past few years, I went for the digital drawing of Marundheeswarar temple tower design. That was all I knew about the design.
I was informed that, the design came as a set. A necklace and two ear rings. I loved the shade of blue that came with the set. I had no two thoughts then. In another half an hour, I had ordered the set, paid the money and also received acknowledgement for the same. Divya, the designer also asked about the occasion and customized the ear rings like it fit my mom (not that my mom is aged or something), but to make her look more elegant.
I am a man of very simple expectation. I just judge a service by the timelines they respect. Sayuri scored full mark in that. I had repeatedly mentioned her that the set should reach me on or before my Mom’s birthday. The design reached me two days earlier. I am a very happy customer.
I felt like a simple Thank you message, a review on their Facebook page doesn’t do full justice for the professionalism displayed and the service I received. Here are some of the designs from the collection.
