Theosophical Society – Photowalk

Since we visited this Elphinstone Bridge, it was always in my mind to visit theosophical society and look what is inside it. The board at the gate said that we are not allowed to photograph anything inside, which only increased my curiosity. So when Ram anna, pinged if I would be interested in a photowalk there, I jumped in without second thoughts. Though it was a May afternoon, we decided to stroll through the society.

Theosophical society is HUGE. ย Walking till the beach and coming back would be easily 7 ย kms. I even saw few people doing it twice. This post is going to be a pictorial one. So enjoy the pictures.

I don’t know about you, but to me there is something very enigmatic about the trees in the first 2 pictures. Almost human, with arms wide open. I wonder if night will make their beauty transform into eerie mystery?

Sakshi, this is the famous Adyar Banyan Tree of Chennai. The main trunk fell off in late 80s. The “trees” you see is just the aerial roots of it. They cover some 60000 sq.m in the garden ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a sucker for nature photographs so I love all of them. But my favorite ones are the ‘path’ ones, with the trees on both sides of the path. I absolutely would love just walking through there! Beautiful pictures, Bragadeesh ๐Ÿ™‚

Come to Chennai. I will take you there. One can walk along the river bank surrounded by trees, getting glimpse of various birds and crabs while finishing the walk in beach, where the river pours itself into the sea. This is one awesome place Nirmal.
