The colour theme for today’s post is INDIGO
I was in third grade, when I came across this term. The teacher taught us that there is some thing called Rainbow. And it has seven colors. And when she drew it in black board to make us understand, after drawing an arc with violet chalk, she took a blue chalk dipped it in water and drew an arc. From then on, the intelligent me thought indigo is blue drenched in water.
At that time, we didnt have the privileges of kids today. If we need to wear full pants, we should wait till we get to seventh or eighth grade. And then also jeans pants were strict no-no, partly because it was heavy for mom to wash. My brother however was adamant and got a blue jeans for his birthday. One day mom washed it and dried it in sun outside the house and went to office. Suddenly the dark clouds formed outside and she called me in landline asked me to take the dresses inside while she waited in line.
I went outside, collected all the dresses and came back inside and confirmed it to mom. She asked about the details because I used to take the dresses of our neighbors also. I said “Dont worry mom, I got it this time. Four shirts, three shorts of mine and indigo jeans” My mom was worried that I took some neighbor’s jeans and asked me to put it back outside. As a obedient son, I did the same.
It was heavy downpour and when mom came home late in the evening, she saw my brother’s jeans outside. And while thrashing me she didnt understand my explanation that “Indigo is just blue drenched in water” and I was technically right. But nobody listens to intelligent kids you see.
